Roger Belisle: The founder
It was in 1956 that Concentrés Scientifiques Belisle inc. was founded. In the beginning, the distribution of the mineral and vitamin premix was made to the millers and veterinarians. It was only in the seventies with the arrival of on farm feed mixers that Belisle distributed directly to the farm producers.

Belisle is one of the pioneers in the feed mixing on the farm. We believed and still do, that making your own feed on your farm is the key to success for a farm producer. In the beginning of the seventies, almost 50% of Quebec producers owned a feed mixer.

The employees: our future
Since 1998, the company has been owned by the employees. The Belisle team believe in the future of agriculture and invest themselves into the timelessness of their company. In September of 2005, Concentrés Scientifiques Bélisle Inc. became Belisle Solution Nutrition inc.; this latest effort is a competitive repositioning and a renewal to its mission in the business.

Belisle works relentlessly in finding new and innovative products. In January of 1994 at the Salon de l’Agriculture de St-Hyacinthe, one of our new products was awarded with the first prize of “Innovation agricoles 1994”. In 1995, by putting the product into tablets, we were awarded: “Innovation agricole 1995” for this innovation. Belisle leadership, with its ability to develop new, performing and well-adapted products which adapts itself to the market and its needs, that is what makes the Belisle strength.

Research and development
Our research and development team is always on the look out for new formulas to improve the existing ones we have. Quality nutrition must always be on the forefront of nutrition. Therefore, Belisle is dedicated to development of solution in animal nutrition.

Belisle has always been and always will remain an innovator. We were the first to make and distribute mineral and vitamin premix in Quebec, we were the first to promote on farm feed mixers (1972), the use of synthetic amino acid (1980). In 1994, we were the first to use enzymes and yeast in our feed formulas. Already, we are developing solutions to include plant extract and olfactory crystals.

Laboratory
Since 1986, Belisle has had its own laboratory in order to master the different innovations in animal nutrition. The analyses we carry related to our quality control and for our customer services. The most common procedures are dry matter, protein, fibre and the major minerals.

We use conventional techniques such as wet chemistry, Elisa (for toxins) paired with a technical analysis with near infrared spectroscopy.

Our laboratory has its NFTA accreditation (National Forage Testing Association), a North American accreditation.

Sales and total quality
On top of offering you quality nutrition, we also offer you a quality service, THE Belisle solution. All of our representatives have graduated from Laval University, MacDonald College or of the Institut de Technologie Agricole de St-Hyacinthe and la Pocatière.

Our team of experts from Belisle and our distributors suggest our Solutions in Québec, Ontario, in the Maritimes, in Algeria and soon in Mexico and Viet-Nam.

In order to offer continuity in a Solution/Nutrition, we have established a quality control measure allowing us to test the input as well as the finished products.

Delivery
Our professional services also include our delivery service. Our delivery team is trained to answer each customer’s demands for handling, making piles and the turnover of the inventory.

Management
Our efficiency at the management level and accounting is constantly improving. Everyday, more than five hundred items are billed. All the transactions are checked to guaranty a better quality.

All of this work is accomplished by a qualified team assisted by a computer system developed according to our own needs and specifications.

We print more than 10,000 labels each week and we create and produce our own tools for technical data collection for herds (specification sheets, production sheets, ect.); information leaflets, fact sheets and our monthly newsletter: The Source that we send to our clientele.

Manufacturing
Our manufacturing unit is located in St-Mathias sur le Richelieu. Even here, we have a professional and competent team that insures the production of adapted solutions made for our clients. Quality, innovation and passion are the core of their concerns.

In Ontario, BSC Animal Nutrition is our partner in distributing our products. In the Maritimes, Moulées Ouellet Feed manufactures our products according to our specifications intended to our clients in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Maine.
